A BATTLE WON

Following FWCC's good showing in the DPIC competition, David's team led us to glory in the Warminster Inter-Club Print Competition last Saturday, which FWCC won. Special congratulations are due to Loveday Powell and Alan Denison, with 1 and 2 maximum scores of 20 respectively.

Battles to come
Our battle with Mid-Somerset Camera Club will take place at The Pipers Inn, Bath Road, Ashcott, TA7 9QL,.on Tuesday 26th February (gremlin alert: NOT Monday as shown on our programme). The meeting begins  at 7.30 pm for a 7.45  start. We hope for plenty of support at what is always a friendly and interesting evening. David can give a lift to three people from Frome. The chosen photographs to represent FWCC are:
Print: Malindi Girl, Workers’ Cottages, Icelandic Outpost, Veiled Dancer, A Beautiful Trio, Balanced, Dawn at the Cement Works, Colville Cement Works, Riley RM Roadster, Snow Girl, Canada Square, Motherhood, About to Pounce, Rutting Red Stag – Richmond Park, Red Stag in Autumn.

Yet another battle with Warminster Camera Club looms. This time the rules are complex, so please check on https://www.fromewessexcameraclub.com/warminster-battle-rules.html. And please help David to continue our winning streak by sending up to 3 digital images to fwccbattles@gmail.com and by bringing prints to a meeting. The hand-in date is Friday 8th March.
And please don't forget to keep working on the Tri-Battle set subjects.

A Message from Dot Eynon
Thankyou for the cheque* from the photography club. Hopefully we will have a good sum to go to this worthy charity. Geoff thoroughly enjoyed the club and as he got iller he missed the people and the meetings.
The church was packed, with people standing. Thankyou also for coming and helping to give him a good send-off.
Love from Dot.
* £100 for Dorothy House Hospice.

This Week - Fish and Chips!
Please remember to bring your own drinks (glasses will be provided). There will be some salt, pepper and vinegar, as well as tartare sauce. However, you may wish to bring other condiments. David is devising a quiz, and Mary will be presenting the Club Salon awards. 39 of us are going, so it should be a good evening.
NB, though: as we could not meet last week, there are quite a few members who have still to pay for their fish and chips. If you are among them, please seek Criss out and pay her as soon as you arrive.
Also NB: this Friday is the final hand-in date for the Mid-Somerset Battle. Print or digital, open subject. Please help David out by bringing your best prints on Friday, or sending digital images (1400 x 1050) to fwccbattles@gmail.com.

Coming Soon
Last week's programme, the visit from Frome Video Club and the presentations by our members, has been re-scheduled to 15th March.

Geoff EynonV
Geoff’s funeral will be held at 3.00pm on Friday 15th February.
St. Nicholas Church, Church Lane, North Bradley, Trowbridge, BA14 0TA.
Afterwards, family and friends will meet at the Peace Memorial Hall, which is very close to the Church.
Peace Memorial Hall, Southwick Road, North Bradley, Wiltshire, BA14 0SH.
After the church service, the Family only will go to the Crematorium.
Family flowers only, but donations can be made to Dorothy House Hospice Care.
At yesterday's committee meeting, it was decided that the Club should honour Geoff's many years of companionship and service to the Club by making a donation of £100 on behalf of us all. We hope that our members will be well represented at North Bradley on Friday 15th.
